Trace Adkins Concert: Ladies Love Country Boys
Who says summer is over when the school bus picks up kids on early August mornings? Summer is far from over.
Technically summer ends the third week in September. According the Farmer’s Almanac, the Autumn Equinox (or “equal night” where the day and the night are about equal time) for 2016 is September 22 at 10:21 a.m.
We still have a whole lot of daylight ahead of us. Some of us took advantage of a long summer day enjoying an evening concert.
Especially the ladies and I was one of them.
The reason I stress “the ladies,” is the artist was country singer, Trace Adkins. Just about everyone can relate to his hit song: You’re Going To Miss This
We all laughed when he set us up by saying, “I am singing a love song,” and proceeds to belt out, I am Marrying for Money.
And we enjoyed some new songs:
His single, Lit. This song, Trace explains, “Is just fun, nothing deep and profound about it.”
Between Jesus and Jones– (Country legend and hard drinker George Jones) describes walking the line between redemption and temptation.
It was the ladies, however, who enjoyed the night the most. They rushed to the front of the stage to dance to his big hit,
Autumn will be here soon enough. Winter will follow. In the meantime, we have almost a month left of summer.
Let’s make the most of it.
