Updated April 24, 2023

Deer Valley Resort reached a new all-time snowfall record and celebrated by extending the ski season for an extra week. Chairlifts on Deer Valley’s Bald Eagle and Bald Mountain continued to operate beyond the resort’s original closing day, through Sunday, April 23, 2023, conditions permitting.

Fresh snow received throughout the day on Thursday, April 20, 2023, pushed the season’s total depth to 606 inches – more than 50 feet – surpassing the previous record of 484 inches recorded during the 16/17 winter season. Deer Valley’s official snow stake was located on the Ontario ski run on Flagstaff Mountain at an elevation of 9,000 feet.

"The historic snowfall officially made this season our snowiest on record with over a month of skiing left. These incredible conditions also extended our longest season by allowing us to extend ski operations beyond both our planned opening and closing days," said Deer Valley Resort President & COO, Todd Bennett. "I am grateful to our dedicated staff who kept the mountain operating and guests smiling. They maintained their unparalleled service and commitment to teamwork through the challenging weather conditions this year."

Abundant powder days defined the exceptional winter ski season. With record snowfall and an extended spring season, our guests experienced a truly memorable winter season at Deer Valley. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our dedicated guests and staff who made this year remarkable, contributing their enthusiasm and support to the season's success.
