Local Tip
I recommend a simple routine to to enjoy Deer Valley skiing to the fullest, leaving no stone unturned. Depending on the skier, this itinerary can be completed over a five day stay or just wrapped up into one single day by an expert.
Begin by riding to the top of Bald Eagle mountain via Carpenter Express chairlift, ski down Success ski run to make sure that everything is working as it should, repeat with Solid Muldoon ski run. Return to the top of Bald Eagle mountain, catch Little Stick ski run to the Mountaineer Express chairlift and a couple of runs before skiing down to the Jordanelle Express Gondola. From there, return to Bald Eagle mountain, ski down Silver Link ski run to McHenry ski run, down to the Sultan Connection ski run to catch a few rides up the Mayflower chairlift while it still basks under the morning sun. Then, explore the rest of Sultan Express chairlift’s runs and continue around Bald Mountain, using Wasatch and Sterling Express chairlifts.
If it’s lunch time already, stop at the Silver Lake Lodge. Then ride Sterling Express chairlift one more time and take it easy and marvel at the vistas offered from the top of Homeward Bound ski run. Take the afternoon to explore Flagstaff Mountain and when you’re done, slide over to Lady Morgan Express chairlift and pick a run that fits your fancy before riding up Empire Express chairlift. From the top of Empire, the options keep getting better, from the groomers, the main bowl, or the Daly Chutes, if your legs are still willing. If they do, make sure to explore the X-Files ski run (a local secret)!
If you are staying in Empire Canyon or Silver Lake areas you’re almost home, if your final destination is Snow Park, enjoy one last run down Big Stick ski run and you’ll be ready to jump in the hot-tub before sampling the Seafood Buffet!
Enjoy the endless kind employees and the wonderful conditions that make Deer Valley Resort so special.
