Deer Valley A-Z | Voelker

Voelker, a three-time Olympian and 12-year veteran of the U.S. Ski Team, is a hard-charging local and the Ambassador of Skiing at Deer Valley Resort. She has finished within the top 10 at six World Cup races, was the 1994 National Champion in Giant Slalom, and still loves skiing at Deer Valley®.

“You can’t go wrong skiing at Deer Valley Resort,” she says. “I like to work the mountain east to west. This works well whether it’s a powder day or a typical Utah bluebird day. If it’s a powder day, I jump into Mayflower Bowl. This is an original area for powder skiing but typically doesn’t get skied out right away. On a sunny, groomer day I begin on the ridge of Mayflower skiing Stein’s Way and continue skiing the groomers on Bald Mountain. I then head west to Empire Canyon; this is a playground for groomers and bowl skiing. The views at the top of each of these mountain vistas are my favorites.”

If you see her, give her a wave and say hello. However, don’t blink. You just might miss her. Learn more about Heidi and the Ski with a Champion program at deervalley.com
