Deer Valley A-Z | Cushing’s Cabin

Deer Valley A-Z | Cushing’s Cabin from Deer Valley Resort on Vimeo.

Located at the top of Flagstaff Mountain at Deer Valley Resort, Cushing’s Cabin is the perfect place to warm up when The Greatest Snow on Earth® is falling. This idyllic log cabin naturally warms the soul as you enter. Once you grab a cup of Deer Valley’s famous Turkey Chili or rich hot cocoa, you’ll melt into this cozy scene atop the mountain.

Perfect for children and adults alike, Cushing’s Cabin is truly coveted for its delicious chocolate chip cookies and baked goods—staples for those young skiers who whiz by the rest of us with their hands on their knees. Deer Valley’s cookies are perhaps everyone’s favorite— at least for those of us who have had them. Not only available at Cushing’s Cabin, a mix for the jumbo wheel of chocolate, browned sugar and flour that melts in your mouth can also be picked up at the Deer Valley Grocery~Café, Signatures stores and various spots around town.

A hot cocoa and a couple of cookies is the perfect kid-adult break, and why not? Most likely it’s snowing, you’re skiing hard with the family, and after all, you’re on vacation…

Who is Cushing’s Cabin named for?

  2. Deer Valley says:

Hi Elle, Cushing’s Cabin was named after John Cushing. He helped the Stern family develop the resort in the early 1980s. Let us know if we can help with anything else.

  3. Nicholas Cushing says:

It was Joseph Cushing, my grandfather, not John Cushing
